Entertaining Boston area audiences for over 40 years!

The Sounds of Concord is a dynamic men's barbershop chorus based in the Boston area. Drawing singers from cities and towns throughout Eastern Massachusetts, the "Sounds" are focused on fun through musical growth and excellence, both at our weekly rehearsals in Lexington and our numerous performances throughout the area.

We are actively seeking singers in all voice parts. We have a bunch of new singers now and are learning a lot of new music. Come grow with us, come to a rehearsal and check us out! If you need some more convincing, here are five great reasons.

SOC Wins Award In Competition

The Sounds of Concord are proud owners of the Most Improved Chorus award for Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island! We took the prize April 10th in Billerica with our fun new contest set, and our highest competition scores in five years. We are growing in numbers and growing in skill, come be a part of the action.

Mother's Day Cabaret a Big Hit

Our first ever Mother's Day Cabaret played to a full house on Mother's Day eve. Lots of food, lots of fun, lots of good singing, and a great time was had by all. I suspect this wasn't our last Mother's Day Cabaret!

Congratulations to SOC Quartets

Our quartets had a fun and rewarding competition weekend as well. Congratulations to our Director Dan Costello's quartet, Average Joes for winning the 2010 Granite and Pine Division quartet contest, besting 16 other quartets to win the title.

Also congratulations to Concord eXpress, who like the chorus, posted their highest scores in five years, and qualified for the Northeastern District quartet contest in the fall. Also, our newest quartet, Accidentally Intended, and our most popular gigging quartet, Sentimental Gentlemen, both competed for the first time and did a great job.

Thanks From SOC

We'd like to thank everyone who purchased a Singing Valentine this year! As always it was a lot of fun for us to deliver them as well.

If you missed this year, put a note in your calendar for next year. You won't regret it.

Don Davis Is Barbershopper Of The Year

Our treasurer Don Davis was chosen by his peers as the Sounds of Concord Barbershopper Of The Year for 2009. Other than minding our finances, Don is also an invaluable contributor in many other ways - whether it be show production, quartet performances, or simply helping to move the risers around. Congratulations to Don on this special honor!
